It’s a powerful thing.
I’m frequently baffled by how difficult it is for some to recognize that they have a choice with everything they do.
Example: you don’t love the way a pair of jeans fit you, you can choose to hold onto them with a hope of them someday fitting the way you want them to OR you can donate them. That way, if down the road you need a new pair of jeans, you’ve created an opportunity to acquire something that you love that suits your body at that moment; ie. another opportunity for choice.
We spend so much time disliking something, or allowing anxieties to exist in our daily lives when it’s as simple as making a choice about allowing something to affect you or allowing someone to affect you.
This past year a half has been a lot. My favorite lesson through all of it is that I am the curator of my life. Try that on for size:
I am the curator of my life.
So in essence… You can curate every aspect of your life, including the people that exist within your space, the events and places you choose to place yourself in, you also get to choose the content you ingest. I have unfollowed a ton of people, not because I don’t like them as humans, but the content they share wasn’t fuelling my soul and I want to see things that light me up! I consciously spend time reading books that I want to be reading and I turn off a show on Netflix if something makes me not feel good. These are the choices I get to make, and I’m grateful for the power of choice.
So what are you choosing today?
